We urge you to adopt a new policy based on these principles:
Fair Distribution: Implement a mandatory mechanism to distribute asylum seekers fairly among all member states, based on population and GDP. This will ensure solidarity and shared responsibility.
Humanitarian Standards: Uphold refugee rights and international law. Ensure safe, legal pathways to asylum and provide dignified reception conditions, including access to shelter, food, and medical care.
Funded Integration: Establish an EU-funded program for refugee integration, including language classes, job training, and cultural orientation. This is an investment in social cohesion and economic self-sufficiency.
Accountability: Sanction member states that violate humanitarian standards or fail to comply with the distribution scheme. All members must be held accountable to the EU's founding values.
A unified and compassionate approach is not only a moral duty but a strategic necessity for Europe's stability.
